National History Day is an exciting academic enrichment program which promotes the study of history. These young historians develop research papers, exhibits, documentaries, websites and performances based on topics for this year’s theme: Leadership and Legacy in History. Participating in National History Day helps address the Common Core State Standards comprehensively.
Students compete in two divisions: Senior and Junior. The Senior Division is for high school; the Junior Division is for middle school.
The Southwest Regional contest will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Farm and Ranch Museum in Las Cruces.
The Northwest Regional contest will take place on Friday, March 4, 2016 at San Juan College in Farmington.
The Central Regional contest will take place on Friday, March 18, 2016at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque.
The New Mexico State Competition will take place on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque.
